This project involved multiple project elements designed to not only update the appearance of the Third Floor of the University Center but also to improve the uses of the space and address critical life safety issues.

The design for the addition portion of the project included 7 new meeting rooms totaling over 5,000 square feet with an adjacent foyer for gathering.  The meeting rooms are of various size, design and layout to facilitate different uses. The addition also created space for the catering facilities use.  It allows for more efficient storage of equipment and supplies and includes an office for catering coordination and planning.



The renovation project included updating the ballroom and adjacent foyer, new wall and floor coverings, new bathroom facilities, additional exit routes and corridors.  The addition of a 288-seat movie theater, in the previous meeting room space, along with a ticket counter and concession counter makes the third floor a popular place for students and staff.
